Shiva is one of the principal Gods in Hinduism. Known as the “destroyer” within the Trimurti [which also include Vishnu (the “preserver”) and Brahma (the “creator”)], he often showcases both, benevolence and wrath. Within the Hindu concept of Shakti, he represents the male energy, whereas the goddess Parvati is the equal, complementary female energy.
